Welcome to the South Jersey Chapter of the New Jersey Society, Sons of the American Revolution. Our roots trace back to 1923, and we proudly serve the southern Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties. As a chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, a Congressionally chartered organization founded in 1889, we are part of a rich tapestry of patriots dedicated to preserving American history and promoting education for future generations.
As a 501C3 non-profit, non-partisan service organization, we are dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and teaching American history to future generations. We welcome any male aged 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove blood lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.
Our society is a historical, educational, and patriotic non-profit that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom. We foster an appreciation for patriotism, a respect for our national symbols, and the value of American citizenship. We do this by perpetuating the stories of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, tragedy, and triumph of those who achieved our independence. These stories are universal ones of man’s eternal struggle against tyranny, and we believe they inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation.
In addition to our educational efforts, we also reward excellence and achievement in our community. We reach out to public school students and educators with yearly contests offering cash rewards. We recognize Eagle Scouts, military veterans, and future military officers in training as future leaders. Information on these programs can be found throughout our website.
Our collective membership boasts a distinguished roster, including fifteen presidents of the United States, military generals, presidents of several colleges and universities, ambassadors, and members of the Supreme Court, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Congress.
Join us as we continue to honor our past, inspire our present, and shape our future.
