This morning, Rich Serfass, the president of the SJC SAR, and several chapter members were present at the Red Bank Battlefield, working alongside an archaeological team of Dr. Janofsky’s Archaeology class from Rowan University, and community volunteers. Their collective mission was to search for remnants of the 1777 Red Bank Battle. Other members of the South Jersey Chapter, including Adam and Harry Schaeffer, also took part, getting their hands dirty in the process. Numerous areas across the battlefield were singled out as potential sources for artifacts. The entire experience was not only educational but also greatly enjoyable for everyone involved.
